The tower is the heart of the system. The tower consists of two cylinders. In the demonstration System the outer cylinder is clear so you can see the rings that make up the inner cylinder.

Water input is at the bottom with the transducer at the top and the reflector at the bottom. A standing wave is thus created vertically so that substances, crystals, colloidal particles, and anything heavier (or lighter) than water is forced through the slots into the outer cylinder and removed as a concentrate through the bottom. The permeate or cleaned water is taken from the top of the cylinder.
When compared to other systems, efficiency, operations, maintenance, and capital cost all favor this system.
The most recent large scale desalination project with public information is in Tampa Bay with a design build and operate price of $1.71 per 1,000 gallons (with escalations to a 30 yr average of $2.08). Our uppermost projections will reduce this price by 80%. All other processes are higher in price and generally only used for specialty application i.e. superpure water for manufacturing uses. more...
